We're pleased to welcome Justin Brader, Board Certified – Hearing Instrument Specialist (BC-HIS) and expert in hearing instrument technologies to the team.

The expansion of our diagnostic team is a tremendous improvement for our patients, but our practice would be short-sided to move forward without a Nationally Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist that is an expert in modern hearing instrument technologies.

Justin Brader, BC-HIS, joins our practice with national credentials and a comprehensive understanding of most of the brands and styles of hearing instruments on the market today.  Justin has taken over the primarily role of making sure our patients get the most out of their hearing instruments, whether they have had them for one year or five.

“The audiology industry has changed dramatically over the last 15 years and it is nearly impossible for each of our providers to know the intricacies of all brands and models on the market at any given time.  Justin has the unique ability and technological savvy to do just that.

His certifications in Hearing Instrument Sciences allow him to focus on selecting and prescribing the most appropriate amplification solutions for each patient, as well as the ongoing care and programming capabilities for those devices, we are thrilled to have a specialist of his caliber for our patients’ benefit,” says Jeff Manwaring, Clinical Audiologist.

A Dream to Help Others

It’s always been my dream to help people. When I started on my path in healthcare, I wanted to be a marriage and family counselor. With that end goal in mind, I pursued a degree in Psychology, and graduated with my bachelor’s. Knowing that the next step of education was going to be a little out my budget, I decided to pursue a career helping those struggling to understand one another.

While the field is not where I’d originally thought I’d be, I can honestly say that it’s been the best career move I’ve ever made. I get to interact with patients from all walks of life, and in between hearing about their experiences and what’s going on in their day-to-day activities, I get to help them hear better and improve the quality of their lives.

Unlike jobs in sales or marketing, I’m not focused on selling products or things; I’m just focused on helping people. Plus, here at the office, the environment is very friendly. Our patients are our family. And the office staff? We’re close, too. In my time here, I’ve learned from the best, and it’s been a positive experience building relationships with my colleagues as well as my patients.

Justin's Goals and Personal Life

As for my goals, long term, I look forward to helping more of you improve your speech understanding. Short term, I’m looking toward completing a master’s level course to become an Audioprosthologist, which is basically what I’m doing now but with a higher certification. With that, I hope to serve my patients even better than I can now!

It’s by no extension of the truth that I say my job is my hobby. When I’m not at work, my time and attention goes to my beautiful family. My wife, Alyson, and I have four amazing kids. Our oldest is Loryn, 12, followed by Max, 10, then Lila, 5, and our youngest is Dexter coming up on his second year.  We will be celebrating our 13th anniversary this year.

For us, the best activities are the spontaneous ones, which makes us grateful to live here in Southern Utah. There are so many fun and amazing national and state parks. Day trips are easy since there are so many opportunities, and since we’re not much for camping, that’s perfect for us.

When we can, we enjoy hiking and exploring all of the incredible wonders nature has to offer. For our more home-based activities, when we’re not visiting a national park, the kids love going to museums and zoos.

As for my wife, like me, she had a career in healthcare, though she was on the more technical end of things as a surgical technician. Today, she’s a stay-at-home mom with her hands full, and I am grateful every day at the way she holds our family together so well.  When she has time, she does enjoy attending church-related activities and spending time with her friends.

A Passion For the Latest Technology

As for me, when I do have a minute to myself, you might just find me at the computer—technology is one of my passions as well and that is why I am the expert on hearing instruments here at Intermountain Audiology.

I look forward to meeting those of you whose acquaintance I haven’t yet had the pleasure to make! Hopefully we will cross paths soon!
