The games, a celebration of wellness, share in our mission to empower-active aging. The Games were founded in 1987 by Daisy Morgan and John H. Morgan, Jr. whom both agreed that the golden years were bettered lived when good health and physical fitness become a way of life.

Their vision of an international sports event for men and women age 55 and better has grown to become the largest annual multi-sport event in the world for senior athletes. In addition to more traditional sports like swimming, tennis, basketball and track & field, the event also offer a fun mix of games including bridge, shuffleboard and bowling.

What's New in 2016

The 2016 Games take place in St. George through October 15th. The event has reached a new milestone of over 11,000 participants. Thirty sports are part of the event this year. The 2016 keynote speakers is Debbie Meyer, who won three swimming gold medals in the 1968 Olympic Games.

Over the years, athletes from 72 countries have participated. The Games are a fantastic celebration and a great time to share with friends and family.

Health Screenings at the Games

intermountain trailerWith more than 11,000 athletes participating in the Games, they take participant health and safety seriously. Participants are able to receive nearly $500 worth of free health care services with available screenings for blood pressure, blood glucose, body mass index, cholesterol, and of course, hearing.

Intermountain Audiology will be there offering free hearing screenings for Games participants at the Dixie Convention Center from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Tuesday October 11th through Thursday October 14th.
